Sungrow battery price in Australia

    Sungrow makes two home battery ranges sold in Australia: the modular SBR for single-phase homes and the high-voltage SBH for three-phase or larger properties. Both are Clean Energy Council–approved and eligible for the federal battery rebate. This page sets out the range by capacity and how Sungrow compares, with every installed price shown as “Being verified” until we’ve confirmed it against a real installer quote or Sungrow’s Australian price list, rather than publishing a number we can’t stand behind.

    Cheaper Home Batteries Program

    Active

    National ~30% upfront discount on eligible home batteries (5–100 kWh), delivered as a point-of-sale STC discount on the install — no separate application, not means-tested. Began 1 July 2025; runs to 2030. Funding expanded from $2.3bn to $7.2bn.

    Sungrow SBR (residential)

    Sungrow’s mainstream residential series. Built from modular 3.2 kWh units and stackable from 6.4 kWh to 25.6 kWh, it’s designed for single-phase homes.

    Is Sungrow a good home battery?
    Sungrow’s home battery ranges are sold widely in Australia, and both the residential SBR series and the high-voltage SBH series are listed on the Clean Energy Council’s Approved Products List — which also makes them eligible for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program. Whether one is a good fit is less about the brand than about sizing the battery to your real solar surplus and usage: the SBR suits most single-phase homes, while the larger three-phase SBH targets bigger or three-phase properties.

    Is a Sungrow battery worth it in 2026?
    A battery — Sungrow or otherwise — earns its keep by storing solar you’d otherwise export cheaply and using it instead of buying from the grid, so the answer depends on your battery price, your surplus solar and the gap between your usage rate and your feed-in tariff. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program currently cuts the upfront cost by ~$252 per usable kWh (Zone 3 states, from 1 May 2026), which improves the maths.
